How can I distribute project plans for everyone to look at but not alter?

I have found over the years that it can be a challenge to distribute in soft copy project plans to not only project team members but also to senior management.

The simplest way I have found to distribute plans is to print them to PDF and then email in PDF to all concerned. The software to do this is free and available at www.pdf995.com 

The only drawback to the solution is that each time you print there is a pop up page promoting pdf995. There is the option to buy the "non sponsored" version which prevents the pop up. I myself continually use the "sponsored" version.
